The Winmau WDDA “Road to the Winmau Tour” 2016
Winmau, the world’s leading darts brand, in partnership with the World Disability Darts Association (WDDA) are excited to announce the “Road to the Winmau Tour” for 2016.
16 players will be selected to play at the Winmau WDDA World Masters Championships, which will take place at the new home of the world’s oldest major tournament – the incredible Copper Box Arena in London - from 24th - 27th November 2016. The 2016 tournament will be the 43rd staging of this prestigious BDO event, and it is set to become the biggest and best World Masters ever!
8 players from the UK will be selected from ranking points gained on the “Road to the Winmau Tour”. These tournaments are being organised by the British Disability Darts Association (BDDA) and the confirmed dates are as follows:
9th April 2016: The WDDA Winmau Classic 2016 at Weoley Castle Working Men’s Club, Birmingham.
May 2016 (date to be confirmed): The Welsh Open at Pontins, Prestatyn, North Wales. Play-offs to determine the final 16 players to take part in the Welsh Open will be held on the 9th April in Birmingham.
29th to 31st July 2016: The Shownights.com Winmau European Darts Open
August 2016 (date to be confirmed): The Winmau BDO Wolverhampton Open
4 players will be selected by international organisers who have run World Disability Darts Association tournaments in 2016.
4 players will be selected by Winmau as wildcards and will include the Winmau WDDA World Masters 2015 champion, Vince D’Hond.
These are exciting times for the World Disability Darts Association, Winmau and the BDO, and we can’t wait to welcome all the players on their quest to reach the 2016 Winmau World Masters!
