Winmau unveils the Blade X – The most advanced dartboard on the planet
Launch marks a major milestone for the sport as the Blade X becomes the new official PDC main stage dartboard
Winmau, the world’s leading dartboard manufacturer, has today announced the launch of the Blade X, its most advanced dartboard ever and which will now be the official dartboard of choice of the PDC.
The board will make its debut at this week’s Winmau World Masters – which is taking place between 29th January – 1st February in Milton Keynes - bringing a new era of performance, consistency, and durability to the sport’s biggest stages.
At the core of the Blade X is ProCore, Winmau’s Elite Performance System, a revolutionary construction that uses layered sisal density to reduce surface resistance for improved dart penetration, while compressing the inner core for maximum impact absorption and longevity. A redesigned wiring system has also been engineered for maximum scoring consistency. The 60-degree angled wires guide darts into the scoring zones to dramatically reduce bounce-outs, while a 60 percent thinner wiring profile increases the overall surface area of the scoring segments.
The Blade X is also the most durable dart board that has ever been produced, validated through six million darts thrown during testing and development. It possesses the deepest sisal bed on any previous board which maximises impact absorption, while exceptional self-healing properties preserve a pristine playing surface and significantly extend the board’s lifespan.
Constructed from premium grade Kenyan sisal selected for its strength and purity, the Blade X delivers unrivalled fibre density, exceeding five million fibres per board and creating the most consistent and responsive playing surface ever produced. Furthermore, the Blade X has been handcrafted by precision engineers to provide a playing experience that feels as good as it performs. A premium layered hardwood backboard, reinforced with carbon fibre bonding, delivers unmatched strength and superior structural integrity.
The number ring, concealed within a high-grade polymer bezel, offers effortless 360-degree rotation without removal, delivering on a clean, modern and accessible darting aesthetic. Installation is equally seamless, with a steel thread mounting system that allows the board to be securely fitted to the wall immediately with no drilling required.
As a mark of Winmau’s confidence in the quality, performance and durability of the board, the Blade X has become the first dartboard ever to come with a five-year warranty.
Winmau has been a trusted partner of the Professional Darts Corporation since 2022, when it became the exclusive tournament board supplier across all PDC events. The packed fully featured Blade X will now leap to the stage at the Winmau World Masters and take its place as the official dartboard of the PDC.
Coinciding with the launch of the Blade X, the PDC and Winmau have also announced a partnership extension, further solidifying the relationship. The long-term deal will see Winmau boards used exclusively across PDC tournaments worldwide, with events this year spanning 17 countries including the United Kingdom, the United States, Saudi Arabia, Australia and New Zealand.
Tom Brown, CEO of Nodor Group and Winmau, said about the launch and the partnership extension:
