World Number 1 Dean Winstanley Joins Winmau

Winmau are delighted to announce the signing of one of the biggest names in darts - Dean “Over The Top” Winstanley. Dean, current World Darts Federation number 1 ranked player and recent Winmau British Classic Winner, will work closely with Winmau’s engineers to create his new set of signature darts.

The in-form Yorkshire based star will make his debut as a Winmau player at the ESPN televised Winmau World Masters in September. Dean had a tremendous run in last year’s event reaching the quarter-finals and, on the back of a superb 12 months on the circuit, he is ranked the number 2 seed for the 2011 Masters.

Simon Hall, Head of Marketing for Winmau, was delighted to have Dean on board. He said : “Dean is easily one of the best players in the game at the moment, and it is a real honour to have a player of his drive and determination represent our company”.

Dean joins Winmau’s illustrious team of darts superstars and said “I am really happy to have signed with Winmau, as I’ve played on Winmau dartboards for over 15 years and they are the best on the market. The Winmau World Masters is one of my favourite events and I’d love nothing more than to win the tournament as a Winmau sponsored player. Hopefully I can then follow that up with my first Lakeside world title after my final appearance this year!”.

Dean will be working alongside Winmau’s Research and Development Department to create his own signature range of match weighed darts that will feature Winmau’s class leading technology in tungsten production.
