Nico Bado became the youngest ever player to win a Gibraltar Darts senior event over the weekend
as the 14-year-old set the standard on the rock. His 87 average in round one got the ball rolling,
before a 92 average, his highest of the afternoon, was enough to whitewash Sean Negrette.

A huge 120 checkout helped him on his way to a win over Roy Asquez, before defeating the highly
rated Craig Galliano 6-2 in the final. Aa terrific achievement for the young man from Gibraltar.
There were also excellent signs from Jurjen Van der Velde on the PDC Pro Tour. He reached the last
16 on Saturday with wins over the in-form Krzysztof Ratajski and former major winner, Mensur
Suljovic. Despite mounting a valiant comeback he would be edged out by Mike de Decker in the last
16.

Sunday would bring more success for the young Dutchman as he averaged 95 in defeating Devon
Petersen. Along the way there were 120 and 121 checkouts as he set up a meeting with Jonny Clayton
in the last 64, where his weekend would come to an end.

Finally, there was also success for one of the leading female youth players, with Hannah Meek picking
up some results at a midweek ADC Vault. Meek went four from four in her group stage encounters
before losing out to Andrew McDougall in the quarter-finals.
