Team 360 Report - JDC Advanced Tour Events and Inaugural JDC Girl's Event

01 June, 2023

The weekend saw the final batch of JDC Advanced Tour events, as well as the inaugural JDC Girl’s
event, so as ever there were plenty of Team360 stars in action.
It was an important weekend in the progression of Cayden Smith. Smith has been a regular
competitor on the advanced tour, but this was the first weekend he has threatened to claim a title.
Saturday saw him reach a semi-final where he was defeated by table-topper Luke Littler, and after
bowing out in his opening game he once again reached the final four in the final event of the
weekend. Not only would he push a rampant Littler to a last leg decider, but he would wire double
12 for first competitive nine-darter!
Recent addition to the Team360 line-up, Fabian Tapner, also enjoyed a successful weekend.
Saturday would not go his way as he suffered two defeats to stable-mate Cayden Smith, but Sunday
would be a different story. He would break the top 32 barrier in event 11, before penning his best
performance of the weekend hours later.
He dispatched Kian Poyner and Almos Kovacs with strong performances to reach the quarter-finals.
Unfortunately, this would be the end for Tapner as he lost out to tour winner, Luke Littler.
Ryan Branley was another Team360 star to reach the quarter-finals, his turn coming on day one.
Branley defeated Robert Sutherland and Callum Beddow before losing out to eventual winner,
Leighton Bennett. He would come close to revenge in event 11, pushing Bennett all the way to a
decider. Despite the loss, Branley can be pleased with his efforts, having upped his averages as the
weekend unravelled.
Hannah Meek reached the final of the first ever JDC England Girls event in Coventry. Meek failed to
drop a leg in reaching the final, including 3-0 wins over Mia Stansfield and Lauren Stokoe. She would
face Paige Pauling in the finale, and despite putting up an excellent fight, would lose out 4-0.
Elsewhere, Ben McCaffrey and Riley Rees-Tucker were in local competition, with the latter reaching
the final four, consistently averaging close to the 80 mark.
