Winmau is proud to announce a 6-year sponsorship deal with Disability Darts Scotland, a partnership that will continue to grow disability darts in Scotland, through increased tournament support and events throughout the country.
The deal will also see the organisation adopt the class-leading Blade 5 as their official tournament dartboard.
Disability Darts Scotland has been instrumental in introducing the New “Compris” category, which has recently been adopted by the World’s disability darts governing body (WDDA), allowing inclusion for all players that receive PIP or DLA in disability darts events.
Ted McMillan, Chairman of Disability Darts Scotland, said “Here at Disability Darts Scotland we believe that the pioneering "Compris" category is paramount in moving disability darts further forward. We welcome players of any disability to take part in our inclusive tournaments.”
“We look forward to a long and happy Association with the World’s finest darts company, Winmau. The support they have shown over the years to Disability darts is incredible and we are proud that we can continue to grow the game of darts for everyone with such an iconic partner.”
Ian Flack, Winmau’s Sales and Marketing Director, said: “It’s been fantastic watching how disability darts has grown over the years and to be part of that as a darts brand is truly a privilege. Ted and DDS’s work to create and implement the “Compris” classification has been amazing and it further reinforces the disability darts ethos of inclusion for all. We can’t wait to see this superb growth continue and further our support of disability darts in Scotland and across the globe.”
