The second round of the World Grand Prix concluded last night as Winmau’s two-time semi-finalist Steve Beaton fell to a 3-1 defeat.
This was the Bronzed Adonis’ 15th appearance at the World Grand Prix and he staged a mini-rally to pull the tie back from 2-0 down to 2-1 but Price found another level to take the fourth set.
Price will now face Mensur Suljovic in the quarter-final after the Austrian comfortably dispatched of Ian White. Suljovic put on a superb display of finishing with four ton-plus outs and three checkouts on the bull.
Peter Wright blew away Jermaine Wattimena with a strong display of scoring to win the fixture 3-0. Snakebite dropped just two legs throughout the match despite not being at his best on the doubles.
James Wilson then closed the night with an impressive 3-2 victory over Adrian Lewis. There was 11 maximums hit between the pair but it was “Lethal Biscuit” that edged the contest with the help of key 150 and 125 checkouts.
