Scotty Dog kicks off 2019 Lakeside Campaign

09 January, 2019

Winmau’s Scott Mitchell began his quest for the 2019 Lakeside World Championship title with a win over stable-mate Oliver Ferenc.

Scotty Dog looked confident throughout, burst to a 2 set lead without dropping a leg to the Serbian. Ferenc began to battle back in the third set, taking it to a decider, but Mitchell closed the game out with a 94.5 average.

Mitchell now meets Krzysztof Kciuk in the next round after the Polish thrower posted a shock win over Dave Parletti. Elsewhere during the afternoon session, Scott Baker defeated Scotland’s Ross Montgomery whilst Aileen de Graaf comfortably defeated Paula Jacklin 2-0.

Glen Durrant opening the evening’s session with a convincing 3-0 win over Mark McGrath and will now face Scott “The Mod” Baker in the next round. Lorraine Winstanley then edged an extremely close encounter with Casey Gallagher 2-1 and Northern Irishman Kyle McKinstry also came out on top in a close tie with Chris Landman 3-2.
