George Hall was the setting for the clash of the titans of the football and darting world! Tottenham Hotspur and Brazilian international midfielder Sandro met with the King of Bling, Bobby George, at the darts legend^s home for a master class in how to play the sport.
Sandro is a self-confessed darts fan and Bobby invited him to George Hall to assess his current standard and to offer some pro tips on how to take his game to the next level. Bobby offered advice on his stance, throwing style and how to prepare mentally for a game on the oche.
Following Bobby^s tuition, there was a surprise in store for the superstar footballer. Richie George (Bobby^s son and a rising star in the British Darts Organisation ranks) challenged Sandro to a game of 501, and Premier League World captured all the action on camera.
There was a further treat for the Brazilian ace as Winmau, the world^s largest darts brand, presented him with a set of professional tungsten darts engraved with his own name, a personalised aluminium darts case and a Tottenham Hotspur dartboard.
Sandro said "I have had an amazing day with Bobby and Richie and have learned so much. I think my standard on the oche is okay, but these guys are a different class! I am very passionate about football and I feel the same about the sport of darts. It captures the same excitement and drama as football and it is a sport that can be enjoyed by anyone. I am thrilled with my gifts from Winmau and I can^t wait to get home to practice with them!"
Bobby added "Sandro is a really nice guy and he definitely has some talent as a darts player. If he goes away and practises the techniques I have taught him today, he could certainly develop into a good player in the future. I think my footballing days are over, but Sandro could have a career in darts to fall back on!"
