Contender Fallon Sherrock, who faces triple BDO World Champion Glen Durrant this week, continues her fairytale journey and meteoric rise in the sport and her effect on it as was seen by week 1 figures in the Junior darts corporation’s female participation.
Steve Brown, JDC Chairman, said “Fallon’s journey in the World Championships has heralded a new era for the sport as a whole and we have already seen a superb influx of girls both playing and interested in taking up the game. Whilst we are a million miles from the glitz and glamour of the televised game it is this sort of development that bodes well for decades to come and hopefully the first ever ladies and girls competing for major titles.”
The Premier League Night Two takes place at the Motorpoint Arena, Nottingham this evening Live on Sky Sports from 7pm in the UK and Worldwide via the PDC’s global broadcast partners.
This week’s contender will be history-making Ladies player Fallon Sherrock, who becomes the first woman to play in the tournament.
