FORMER world darts champion Mark Webster believes visiting places like Grimsby is good for the development of the sport.
The 28-year-old Welshman, known on the circuit as ^Spider^, is part of the star-studded cast that will travel to North Lincolnshire for the Allstars event tomorrow night.
Webster will feature at Grimsby Auditorium alongside five-times world champion, Raymond van Barneveld, and Australian PDC sensation Simon Whitlock
Paul Nicholson, Andy Fordham, Vincent van der Voort and 2009 Premier Darts League winner, James Wade complete the mouth-watering line-up.
In an exclusive interview with the Telegraph, Webster said: "For most of us it is a chance to get in some quality competitive practice against some top players – as well as entertaining people, that is what these events are all about.
"I have a couple of events like the one in Grimsby coming up and it is a great way of building up some form. I am happy with my form, but have been consistent rather than flash.
"I have never been to Grimsby before and I am looking forward to it. These events allow us to travel to new places, which is good for darts.
"Playing in new venues is always great for us. Hopefully we will also get the chance to mix with the supporters at some stage on the night.
"That is the best thing about darts. If this was football, golf or cricket the fans maybe wouldn^t get the chance to speak with the players."
Webster, who arrives in Grimsby ranked eighth in the world, is hoping to recapture the sort form that won him a place in the 2011 Premier League.
However, the 2008 Lakeside winner could find it tough going against his PDC rivals – Dutchman van Barneveld comes to the area having scooped 15 major titles.
The Grimsby event will be hosted by ex-BDO world champion Fordham.
