Glen Durrant and Claire Stainsby made darting history at the British International Open in Brean Sands by hitting the first ever recorded mixed 9 dart 501 leg.
Glen opened up with a 177 that Claire followed with a 180 leaving Glen on 144 that he coolly took out to mass hysteria.
A perfect 9 dart 501 mixed leg has never ever been recorded in any competitive game of darts and see’s both players added to the BDO Hall of Fame 9 Dart Club.
Glen said after “We’d both been playing fairly steadily, and I wasn’t even thinking 9 dart until Claire nailed her last triple 20, then it was on and I could feel the hairs on my neck stand up. To finish off a 9 darter is an amazingly special moment but to do it as a team is even better”.
Claire was equally stunned as she said “When Glen lined up his last 3 darts I was so nervous I could feel every dart and when he took out the 144 I was absolutely ecstatic and the moment will live with me forever”.
Sue Williams Chairperson of the BDO said “Were all so happy for Glen and Claire to have made History as the first mixed pair to hit a perfect 9 darter, it was superb to see”.
