Winmau is thrilled to continue their journey supporting Jurjen van der Velde on a further three-year deal with Winmau Evolution.
Jurgens rise began in 2018 with remarkable performances under the NDB, Van der Velde clinched his first major youth title at the German Open, losing only one leg in the semi-finals and delivering a flawless performance in the final.
The Dutch player continued his winning streak by securing the singles championship at the 2018 WDF Europe Cup Youth, triumphing over Keane Barry in a decisive leg. His prowess led him to the PDC Development Tour in 2019, where he reached the Last 16 phase in his debut weekend. Consistent success during the PDC Development season earned him a spot in the 2019 PDC World Youth Championship.
Despite lacking a tour card at PDC Q-School, van der Velde qualified for the 2022 UK Open. He displayed his skill by defeating Mickey Mansell in the first round but faced a loss against Jim Williams in the second round. His momentum soared in early 2022, claiming a second victory on the PDC Development Tour before securing his inaugural triumphs on the PDC Challenge Tour in July and September.
