Scott Waites 2013 Lakeside World Championship

Scott Waites 2013 Lakeside World Championship

Scott Waites cruised to his first BDO World Darts Championship title with a 7-1 win over Tony ^The Silverback^ O^Shea.

The 35-year-old Yorkshire man dominated the Lakeside Final from the outset, as he raced into a 5-0 lead before O^Shea took his first set to trail 5-1 at the break.

However, Scott was in no mood to relinquish the title and classily took out 110 with a double 16 to seal victory and his first ever Lakeside World Championship Title.

Undoubtedly Scott was the best player throughout the week and speaking to BBC Sport^s Colin Murray after the match, newly crowned Champion Waites said: "All I tried to do was battle my way to a few sets in front. It was so hot up there, and very difficult to hold my darts. The crowd have been fantastic all week and I^m going to enjoy this, and lap it up as I^ve got a day off work tomorrow."

Congratulations to Scott from all of us at Winmau on your first Lakeside World Championship Title.
