THE JUNIOR DARTS CORPORATION ANNOUNCE Q SCHOOL FOR DEVELOPMENT TOUR 2017

One of the biggest weekends in the Junior Darts Corporation calendar just got bigger and is taking place in Essex at the Crowne Plaza Five Lakes Resort on December 3rd and 4th – with ‘Super Saturday’  followed by the inaugural JDC Qualifying School for the PDC Development Tour 2017. At the completion of this years Development Tour last weekend, the PDPA have agreed to offer 3 tour cards for JDC members who qualify at their very own Q school.

First up is Super Saturday, on December 3. Tour 6 will kick off the proceedings as this marks the final Modus UK Junior Tour winner of 2016 and the last addition to the JDC All-star team. Following on from Tour 6 the same day, the UK tour finals event will be played out down to the final at five lakes in the PDC^S  –  ^Pathway to the Palace’.

Then, on Sunday December 4, the first ever JDC Qualifying School will be held at the same venue – with three JDC members qualifying to have their entry fees secured for all development tour events in 2017.

The weekend’s events, promise to be one of the most exciting on the JDC calendar, with plenty of opportunities up for grabs for junior dart players around Europe.

Super Saturday will see the final JDC All-star addition and find the last Modus UK Junior Tour qualifier of the year, with the winner of Tour 6 securing £100 and their spot in the ‘finals event’ later that day.

The Finals event itself – with a £3,000 overall prize fund – will see 16 players also compete on Super Saturday for the chance to reach the grand final at Alexandra Palace London on December 17, to be played during the PDC World Championship, where the overall winner will take £1,000 and a magnificent trophy.

The 16 who qualify for the finals event will comprise of the six UK tour event winners, plus five players from the UK tour order of merit, and the top five academy players from the rolling order of merit. Cut-off for the rolling order of merit is after week eight of season four within the academy calendar. Thus giving junior dart players 3 opportunities to make the last 16.

The Sunday will see the inaugural JDC Q School – with three ‘PDPA scholarships’ up for grabs for JDC members

Two qualification events will be played on the Sunday, with both winners receiving a scholarship pass to all PDC development tour events in 2017.

To determine who secures the third qualification spot, 501 points will be awarded for every leg won during both events, with the leading points scorer at the end of the two events earning the final scholarship.

JDC chairman Steve Brown said: “We mirroring what the PDC do with their Q School event. The JDC Q School is built around dovetailing into the PDC system From the very beginning, we wanted to put darts in kids’ hands and then nurture them all the way through, to the development tour and beyond. With the support of the PDC and the PDPA, we can now achieve this goal".
