Winmau are thrilled to announce a three-year extension of their partnership with French international darts player, Thibault Tricole.
33-year-old Tricole, who hails from central Brittany, has been a prominent figure in the French international darts team for the past 15 years. His remarkable journey in the sport began at the age of 13, and it became evident that he possessed tremendous potential when he secured the French Darts Federation (FFD) junior title just two years later.
In 2019, Tricole ventured into the PDC Q-School for the first time but fell short of obtaining a tour card. Throughout that year, he significantly increased his participation in British Darts Organisation tournaments and achieved his first tournament victories at the Torremolinos Open and Greek Open. Furthermore, he made it to the fourth round of the 2019 World Masters and reached the finals of the Belfry Open, Malta Open, and Italian Open.
In a historic achievement, Tricole became the first Frenchman to qualify for the 2020 BDO World Darts Championship as a Western European Qualifier. In 2021, he reached the semi-finals of the PDC Challenge Tour on one occasion. In the early part of October, he clinched victory at the Denmark Open with a 6–3 triumph over Andreas Harrysson in the final and shortly after, he added the Welsh Classic to his list of accolades.
In the earlier part of this year, Tricole secured his second PDC Winmau Challenge Tour title by defeating Owen Bates with a 5-2 scoreline to emerge victorious at Event Five in Milton Keynes on a Sunday. Further, Tricole will become the first French player to compete at the PDC World Darts Championship this month, after winning the West Europe Qualifier in Germany, after defeating Dutchman Wesley Plaisier 7-4.
