Winmau’s Simon Whitlock hit a 9 darter in the Premier League semi-final last night as he beat Andy Hamilton to set up a final with Phil Taylor. The amazing feat came in the second leg and Whitlock said: "I^ll never forget the 9 darter. I^ve thrown a couple of 9 darters before in front of big crowds but not in front of 10,000 fans, so it was special."
In the final against Taylor, Whitlock fought back brilliantly from 7 – 2 down to level 7 - 7, but missed one dart to lead 8 - 7. Taylor went on to claim a 10 - 7 victory and the £150,000 prize.
The Premier League final was played in front of a packed O2 Arena in London, and it was a fitting finale tso a fantastic tournament.
