Winmau Launches Poppyscotland Flight and Shaft Set to Commemorate World War One Centenary

Winmau, the world’s leading darts brand, has announced that it is to support Poppyscotland by launching a commemorative Flight and Shaft Set to mark 100 years of the end of World War One.

Poppyscotland provides life-changing support to the UK’s Armed Forces community by reaching out to those who have served and are still serving, as well as their families, to offer practical advice, assistance and funding.

The commemorative flights from Winmau’s class-leading extra thick Rhino range feature the iconic  red poppy on a black background and will be sold with a green Winmau Signature Nylon Shaft. Proceeds from each set sold will be donated to Poppyscotland.

“History shows us that darts was popular with men and women serving their country in global conflicts, and it is just as popular within all our armed forces today,” says Ian Flack, Winmau’s Sales and Marketing Director. “Our service men and women do an incredible job as do organisations like Poppyscotland and The Royal British Legion. We wanted to do our bit to help mark 100 years since the end of World War One and hope that the Poppyscotland Flight and Shaft Set will sell well and provide much needed funds.”

Stuart Lang from Poppyscotland added: “The Scottish Poppy Appeal raises nearly £3 million each year which goes a long way towards helping those who have served, those still serving and their families receive the support many urgently need. However, we must work hard all year round to raise money to ensure that no veteran lives without the prospect of employment, good health and a home. Winmau’s help is greatly appreciated and I am sure the darts community will respond well to the amazing set they have produced.”

This commemorative set will be available from all good UK darts stockists shortly. Please check with your preferred retailer with regard to pricing and availability.
