Autodarts X Warranty
1. Scope and Duration of Coverage
By purchasing and using the Autodarts X (the Product), you acknowledge that you have read and understood the warranty terms below.
The Product consists of:
(a) the main hardware unit, incorporating cameras mounted on articulated arms, a lighting ring, internal electronics, fold mechanism and backplate, together with the power adapter, cables, mounts and accessories supplied in the box (the Hardware); and
(b) the embedded firmware and the Autodarts Play application software that connects to the Hardware, including via WiFi, to detect, score and record dart throws (together, the Software). This warranty covers the main unit and inbox items only. Any accessories sold separately may carry their own warranty terms.
Subject to the rest of this warranty document, Nodor International Limited, trading as Winmau, warrants to the original purchaser (you) that:
-
Hardware: the Hardware will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of two (2) years from the date of original retail purchase (the “Warranty Period”); and
-
Software: during the Warranty Period, the Software will materially conform to its published documentation and product description when used with the Hardware and with devices, operating systems and network environments that meet the minimum requirements published by Winmau.
This warranty is available to the original purchaser only and applies whether you purchase as a consumer or as a business, subject to Section 7 (Business Purchasers). It applies to Products purchased and used in the European Union, the United Kingdom and the United States. In the United States, this is a “limited warranty”.
The Product is designed for normal indoor use in accordance with the user documentation, in a dry, climate-controlled environment. Outdoor installation, or installation in non-climate controlled or high humidity locations (such as unheated garages, sheds or outdoor areas), is outside the scope of this warranty.
2. Hardware Coverage – Defects in Materials and Workmanship
This warranty covers defects in the Hardware that arise despite proper use and care. A “defect” means a flaw in materials or workmanship that existed at the time of manufacture, and which causes the Hardware to fail under normal use. Examples of covered defects include, but are not limited to:
-
Camera or sensor failure: failure of one or more camera modules, image sensors or associated optics that is not caused by impact, ingress or misuse.
-
Connectivity hardware failure: failure of the Wi-Fi module or other communication components that prevents the Hardware from connecting or maintaining a connection as designed.
-
Power or electrical faults: failure of the power circuitry, ports or supplied power adapter that is due to a manufacturing fault rather than an external electrical event.
-
Structural or assembly failures: cracking, breaking or separation of the housing, mounting ring or fixings due to a defect in materials or assembly.
If a covered defect is confirmed by Winmau, Winmau will, at its discretion, repair the Hardware or replace it with the same or an equivalent model. A replacement unit may be new or refurbished and will be tested to Winmau’s functional standard. You acknowledge that the standard warranty remedy is a replacement unit rather than repair and return of your original unit; on replacement, your original unit becomes the property of Winmau. Where repair or replacement is not reasonably available or would be disproportionate, Winmau may elect to provide a refund of the original purchase price. Nothing in this paragraph limits your statutory rights described in Section 9.
Please note: minor cosmetic irregularities or variations in the Product’s finish are normal and are not considered defects. This warranty covers only genuine defects that impair the function of the Product.
3. Software Coverage and Updates
Software warranty: Winmau warrants that, during the Warranty Period, the Software will perform materially in accordance with its published documentation and product description. Where the Software does not so perform, Winmau will use reasonable efforts to correct the nonconformity by providing an update, patch or workaround within a reasonable time. If Winmau is unable to do so and the nonconformity substantially impairs the core dart detection and scoring functionality of the Product, the Hardware remedies in Section 2 (repair, replacement or refund) will apply.
Updates: Winmau will provide the software and firmware updates (including security updates) that are necessary to keep the Product in conformity with this warranty and with applicable law, for at least the Warranty Period or such longer period as is required by applicable law. You must install updates within a reasonable time of being notified; Winmau is not liable for nonconformities that result solely from your failure to install an update where instructions were provided, or from your modification of the Software.
Licence: the Software is licensed, not sold. Your use of the Software and the Autodarts Play app is also governed by Winmau’s end user licence agreement and/or terms of service and Winmau’s privacy policy, which apply in addition to (and do not reduce) the coverage in this Section. Images and throw data captured by the Product are processed as described in the privacy policy.
Connectivity and third-party dependencies: the Product requires a functioning Wi-Fi network, meeting the minimum requirements published by Winmau, and, for certain features, an internet connection. This warranty does not cover unavailability or degraded performance caused by your network, radio interference, internet service provider, third party devices or operating systems, or third-party app store availability. Availability of optional online features and services is addressed in the terms of service.
4. Exclusions: What Is Not Covered
The following are excluded from this warranty:
-
Normal wear and tear: gradual deterioration of the Product through ordinary use, including cosmetic wear to housings, cables and connectors.
-
Cosmetic and aesthetic issues: cosmetic changes that do not affect functionality, such as fading, discolouration, scratches or scuffs.
-
Accidental and impact damage: damage from drops, knocks or impacts, including damage caused by darts striking parts of the Hardware other than surfaces designed to withstand dart impact, and damage occurring during installation or removal.
-
Liquid and ingress damage: damage caused by liquids, moisture, dust or other foreign matter entering the Hardware.
-
Electrical events: damage caused by power surges, lightning, incorrect supply voltage, or use of a power adapter other than the adapter supplied or one meeting the specification approved by Winmau.
-
Misuse, abuse or modification: damage or faults resulting from use outside the intended purpose or contrary to the user documentation; intentional modification or alteration of the Hardware; installation of unauthorised or modified firmware or software; unauthorised opening of the main unit housing; or any attempt to repair the Product by anyone other than Winmau or an authorised agent.
-
Environmental damage: damage or deterioration caused by outdoor use, damp, condensation, extreme heat or cold, direct sunlight or proximity to heat sources, or storage or use outside the environmental ranges stated in the user documentation.
-
Software and connectivity issues outside our control: faults caused by your network configuration or equipment, third party hardware or software that does not meet the published minimum requirements, changes made by third party operating system or platform providers beyond the support window published by Winmau, third party apps or integrations, or your failure to install updates made available by Winmau.
-
Consumables and third party items: the dartboard itself, darts, and any accessory or item not supplied by Winmau in the Product packaging, which may carry their own separate warranty terms.
-
Products not purchased new from an authorised source: this warranty applies only to new, genuine Products purchased from Winmau or an authorised retailer. Products obtained second-hand or from unauthorised sellers are not covered, and the warranty may be deemed void if the serial number or product identification markings have been removed or defaced.
-
Out of warranty claims: any defect that first manifests after the Warranty Period, any claim made outside the Warranty Period, and any claim for which required proof of purchase cannot be furnished.
5. Warranty Conditions: Proper Use and Care
For this warranty to remain in effect, you must install, use and maintain the Product in accordance with Winmau’s installation and maintenance guidance. Failure to adhere to these conditions may, at Winmau’s discretion and to the extent permitted by law, result in denial of a warranty claim. In the United States, product registration is not required.
6. Warranty Claims Process
If you believe your Product has a defect covered by this warranty, please follow the process below. All claims are subject to verification by Winmau.
-
Prompt claim submission: as soon as you discover a potential defect, stop using the affected function and contact Winmau customer service by email. You may alternatively contact the authorised retailer or distributor from whom you purchased the Product, but do not return the Product without instructions and a valid return authorisation. Claims must be initiated within the Warranty Period.
-
Remote troubleshooting: many reported issues can be resolved without returning the Product. You agree to cooperate reasonably with remote troubleshooting guided by Winmau customer service or the authorised partner, which may include installing the latest firmware and app updates, checking installation and setup, confirming your device and network meet the published minimum requirements, and connectivity testing. If the issue is resolved remotely, no return is required.
-
Proof of purchase: provide proof of the original purchase date and that you are the original purchaser, typically a receipt, invoice or order confirmation showing the date, Product and seller. Failure to provide proof of purchase may delay or invalidate the claim.
-
Evidence and diagnostics: provide clear photographs (or video) of the issue and the overall condition of the Product, together with a written description including when you first noticed the issue and the conditions of use. For Software or connectivity issues, Winmau may ask you to provide diagnostic information from the app.
-
Return authorisation: if the issue cannot be resolved remotely and appears consistent with a covered defect, Winmau will issue a return authorisation (RMA) with shipping instructions. For approved returns, return shipping will be arranged by prepaid label or partner drop off. Winmau may decline a return authorisation where the claim is made outside the Warranty Period, proof of purchase is not provided, or the reported issue falls within the exclusions in Section 4; you will be told the reason and any available options.
-
Inspection and verification: returned units are inspected and tested at an authorised service centre, including verification of the reported fault, physical inspection and review of the unit’s condition at intake. Winmau may assess whether the issue is consistent with a defect or with ordinary use, misuse, unauthorised opening or environmental factors.
-
No fault found: if, after inspection and testing, no fault can be found or reproduced and the Product performs in accordance with its documentation, Winmau will inform you and return the Product to you (or offer an alternative resolution). For Business Purchasers, and otherwise to the extent permitted by law, Winmau may charge reasonable inspection and return shipping costs for units returned with no fault found. This paragraph does not apply where you are a consumer validly exercising statutory rights.
-
Remedy and resolution: if your claim is approved, Winmau will, at its option, replace the Product (with a new unit or a refurbished, fully tested unit of equivalent functional standard), repair it, or provide a refund of the original purchase price or a credit toward another Winmau product. Your original unit becomes the property of Winmau on replacement. A replacement or repaired Product is warranted for the remainder of the original Warranty Period or for any longer period required by applicable law. Replacement does not restart the Warranty Period except where required by law.
-
Claims not covered: if the inspection shows the issue is not covered by this warranty (for example, damage within the exclusions in Section 4, or a defect manifesting outside the Warranty Period), Winmau may offer you, at a charge, a refurbished replacement unit or other paid resolution. If you decline, your original unit will be returned to you “as is” together with a summary of the findings, and the claim will be closed.
-
Timeline: Winmau aims to resolve all claims within a reasonable time and will keep you updated throughout the process.
7. Business Purchasers
If you purchase the Product in the course of a business, trade or profession (a Business Purchaser), this warranty applies to you on the same two year term, subject to the following: (a) Section 9 (Your Statutory Rights) and the consumer specific provisions of this document do not apply to you; (b) to the maximum extent permitted by law, all implied warranties, conditions and terms (including as to satisfactory quality, and fitness for a particular purpose) are excluded; (c) Winmau’s total aggregate liability to a Business Purchaser arising out of or in connection with the Product, whether in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise, is limited to the price paid for the Product; and (d) Winmau shall have no liability to a Business Purchaser for loss of profit, revenue, business, data or goodwill, or for any indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in this warranty excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
8. Limitations of Warranty and Winmau’s Discretion
Winmau’s discretion and good faith: all decisions regarding this warranty, including what constitutes a defect, whether the warranty conditions were met, and the appropriate remedy, are made by Winmau acting reasonably and in good faith. Winmau reserves the right to interpret the terms of this warranty and to make final decisions on claims, without prejudice to your statutory rights or your right to pursue any dispute through the courts or applicable dispute resolution bodies.
No other warranties: this document contains the entire express warranty given for the Product. To the maximum extent permitted by law, no other express warranties are made by Winmau beyond the terms stated here. Any implied warranties, including any implied warranty of merchantability, satisfactory quality or fitness for a particular purpose, are limited in duration to the two-year term of this express warranty. Some jurisdictions (including some US states) do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so this limitation may not apply to you.
Limitation of liability: to the maximum extent permitted by law, Winmau shall not be liable for any incidental, indirect or consequential damages arising out of or related to the use or performance of the Product, including (but not limited to) inconvenience, loss of use, loss of data or recordings, lost games or tournament fees, damage to other property (for example, walls, floors or dartboards), or other indirect losses. Winmau’s liability under this warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of the defective Product, or refund where applicable. This limitation applies to claims in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise. Some jurisdictions (including some US states) do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. Nothing in this warranty excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.
No modification or third-party liability: no Winmau distributor, agent or retailer is authorised to modify the terms of this warranty or to make representations on Winmau’s behalf about coverage. Winmau is not responsible for additional promises or warranties offered by dealers or third parties. Warranty claims must be directed to Winmau (or an authorised partner as instructed).
9. Your Statutory Rights (Consumers)
This limited warranty is a voluntary commercial guarantee. It is provided in addition to, and does not affect, limit or replace, your statutory rights as a consumer, which apply independently of this warranty and are free of charge. In particular:
-
European Union: under EU law you have a legal guarantee of conformity from the seller of at least two (2) years from delivery (longer in some Member States), covering both the goods and their digital elements, including a right to updates necessary to maintain conformity. Remedies under the legal guarantee (repair, replacement, price reduction or termination) are enforced against the seller and are free of charge.
-
United Kingdom: under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods (including goods with digital content) must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. You may have a short term right to reject, and rights to repair, replacement, price reduction or a final right to reject, enforceable against the seller.
-
United States: this warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.
Where any term of this warranty is prohibited by local law, it shall be considered modified to the minimum extent necessary to comply with such law. If any provision of this warranty is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full effect.
10. Governing Law
This warranty shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the country (or, in the United States, the state) where the Product was purchased, unless otherwise required by law. If you are a consumer, you retain the benefit of any mandatory consumer protection provisions of the law of the country in which you reside. Winmau will abide by all applicable laws and regulations regarding warranties and consumer rights.
