Everton (EITC), JDC & Winmau Unite to Bring Darts Education to Communities

Winmau is proud to announce a landmark collaboration with Everton in the Community (EITC) and the Junior Darts Corporation (JDC) bringing the power of darts into education and community programmes across Liverpool and beyond.

This partnership opens up real access to darts at the grassroots level, giving young people the chance to develop new skills using world-leading equipment. By embedding the sport into supportive community programmes, we’re helping young people build confidence, form positive habits, and unlock learning opportunities on and off the oche.

This collaboration is already driving meaningful change:

Working alongside the JDC’s education arm, Winmau has helped deliver dynamic skills training for education professionals and coaches across the UK. EITC staff were among the first to achieve the recognised ABC Leadership in Darts qualification, gaining practical and technical knowledge to make learning fun, engaging, and accessible through the sport. So far, this initiative has already reached hundreds of children from all walks of life across Merseyside and beyond.

Everton’s Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and James Garner joined young participants for a high-energy Premier League Kicks darts session in October, teaming up with PDC star Joe Cullen and Winmau Team 360 player and rising talent Ben Townley. The session brought the partnership to life, showing firsthand how darts can build confidence, sharpen numeracy, and elevate the learning experience for young people.

“This partnership shows what’s possible when sport, education, and community come together. With JDC’s innovative approach and EITC’s impact with the community, we’re proud to provide the equipment and support that make these programmes thrive. This is just the start of something special.”

Jamie King, EITC Senior Youth Support Worker and Everton area coordinator, added:

“We all really enjoyed learning from the JDC on how to use darts to engage children in the classroom and community. We’re excited to roll out these ideas across our programmes and continue working with Winmau and JDC.”

Gary Horsley, JDC Director of Education and Community Projects, said:

“Jamie and the team were brilliant. They’re now well set to continue their journey with darts education, and we look forward to seeing them on the oche soon!”

Impact So Far

Since the partnership launched, EITC has delivered darts sessions in communities, schools, and even overseas. Since September, more than 150 young people have taken part through Premier League Kicks and local school programmes. Winmau also supported EITC’s social action trip to Ghana, where darts was introduced to young people for the first time, using the game to bring maths to life in a fun and engaging way.

Winmau’s equipment has also been used across staff training and wellbeing days at Everton in the Community, embedding darts into daily practice. With access to world-class equipment, EITC can now integrate darts across its programmes, helping young people in Liverpool and beyond build confidence, self-esteem, and ambition.
