A huge congratulations to Jack Johnson on reaching the final of the JDC Super 16 finals in Coventry, meaning he will now compete on the PDC World Masters stage for the Super 16 title!
‘Jacky Boy’ won six of his seven pool matches to progress with ease to the knockout stages where the hard work began. First a 4-3 win of Declan Mainwarning, followed be a superb display to see off fellow Team360 star Cayden Smith. Johnson then edged out Lee Bradshaw before confirming his place in Milton Keynes by defeating Shoey Ayres, 5-1.
Also among those to reach the knockout stages were Rebecca Allen who won five of her group stage matches and Jack Nankervis who lost just one of his. Last years finalist Cayden Smith also made it through dropping just a single match but his run was ended by Johnson in the quarter-finals.
Riley Rees-Tucker notched a 4-0 win in county action, doing so with a 74 average. There were also county wins for Hannah Meek and Ruby Grey, with the pair topping the 60 average line. Fabian Tapner also showed grit and determination to come from 3-0 to win in his weekly superleague match, a feat repeated by Bradley Van der Velden who came back from the brink to win himself.
Ryan Branley was competitive as ever in the UKDA National finals reaching a last 32 and a semi-final on the Sunday last weekend. Branley won his quarter-final match-up with a huge 170 checkout before falling just short in the semi-final decider.
