Price Claims Night Two Title in Antwerp

A night shaped by composure and clinical finishing, where taking chances at the right time proved decisive.
Gerwyn Price delivered a measured performance to hand Michael van Gerwen his first defeat of the 2026 BetMGM Premier League season, securing Night Two honours in Antwerp with a controlled 6-3 victory.
In front of more than 10,000 spectators at the AFAS Dome, a venue staging the Premier League darts for the first time - Price met the standard required. The win halted Van Gerwen’s early momentum, earned maximum league points and secured the £10,000 nightly bonus.
It was a disciplined display, underpinned by consistent scoring and a 104+ average in the final.
2026 BetMGM Premier League
Night Two – AFAS Dome, Antwerp
Thursday February 12
Quarter-Finals
Luke Littler 6-5 Luke Humphries
Michael van Gerwen 6-2 Josh Rock
Jonny Clayton 6-4 Stephen Bunting
Gerwyn Price 6-5 Gian van Veen
The evening opened at high intensity. Littler averaged over 105 in a deciding-leg victory against Humphries, while Van Gerwen advanced efficiently against Rock.
Clayton demonstrated resilience to overturn a four-leg deficit against Bunting, before Price edged past Van Veen in a deciding leg surviving a match dart at the bull to progress.

Semi-Finals
Michael van Gerwen 6-4 Luke Littler
Gerwyn Price 6-5 Jonny Clayton
Van Gerwen closed strongly against Littler, winning three of the final four legs to reach a second consecutive nightly final.
Price, meanwhile, was required to manage another decider. His 6-5 victory over Clayton reinforced the consistency he has shown across recent weeks, transferring floor form to the Premier League stage.

The Final
Price established control early - a break of throw followed by consolidation and immediate scoreboard pressure.
Van Gerwen responded with characteristic precision, converting finishes of 167 and 160 in consecutive legs to restore parity at 2-2. The contest sharpened.
From that point, Price elevated.
Three successive legs created a 5-2 advantage, his scoring phases forcing opportunities and capitalising with disciplined doubling. Although three match darts went astray at 5-2, there was no deviation in focus.
A fourth maximum set the foundation in the next leg. Double 20 concluded the contest. 6-3.
It was a measured, controlled and decisive performance.

“I started off really slow this evening, I felt really edgy,” Price reflected. “Losing last week, you want to get off to a good start.
“I know I’m playing well, but you still have to do it on the big stage. Gian had a shot at the bull to beat me, and I could have been going home.
“I think I’m playing some of the best darts I’ve ever played. I’m just not winning tournaments, but that will come.
“If I keep playing the way I am, there’s no way I won’t pick up a major title.”
Performances like this make that confidence credible.
League Picture
Despite the defeat, Van Gerwen maintains the early advantage in the standings following consecutive finals in Newcastle and Antwerp.
