WDDA Matchplay Playoffs Review

Ted McMillan, WDDA – CEO, commented on the WDDA Matchplay playoffs.

"What can I say other than THANK YOU to every single person who reached the Matchplay playoffs. The games were tight in every section and some great darts thrown.”

“The ladies division was superb with our two qualifiers scraping through. So tight that it came down to leg difference. I really felt gutted for two ladies who missed out, i won't name them but, great darts girls.”

“Kate Monaghan & Lauren Sutherland are going to Blackpool in July. The Classic was also a very tight group with leg difference, again sending players through and the cruel leg difference pipping another couple of players.”

“Tony Rimmer & Robert Sutherland Junior making the trip, 2nd time around for young Robert as he was runner up last year. Compris was played right in front of me on board 1.”

“Some outstanding games took place on this board with 15, 17, 18 darters being thrown.
Could it be 3rd time lucky for Rab Sutherland who has been on the stage the last two years. He is joined by Paul Hannaway who is the current Compris world champion. What a match this is going to be on that big stage.”

“Congratulations to our 6 finalists, i know you will all do the WDDA proud in Blackpool.
To everyone else, i thank you all for your time, energy and commitment in the whole tournaments.”

“You are all winners in my eyes and every one who took part in the Matchplay playoffs all won trophies for getting through to what was ultimately the semi finals.. Great darts folks, so proud of each and every one of you.”
