Winmau, the world’s leading darts brand, are delighted to announce an exclusive 3 year agreement with the Polish Darts Organisation (PDO).
The PDO is one of the most progressive and proactive darts organisations in Europe. Since becoming a member of the World Darts Federation in 2009, the steeltip game under the PDO’s guidance has had a huge surge in popularity. There are more people playing steeltip darts than ever before and this number is set to rise dramatically in the future as the PDO continue to forge ahead.
The agreement with Winmau means that the world famous brand is the exclusive darts equipment supplier to the PDO. The Winmau Blade 4 dartboard will be used at all PDO events, and the country’s biggest steeltip tournament will be renamed The Winmau Polish Open.
Maciej Chorbiński, President of the PDO said: “This is a historic agreement for the Polish Darts Organisation. Winmau have the best reputation in the sport of darts and to have such a large company supporting us and offering their help and guidance is a real boost for all involved in Polish darts. Our membership is growing at a fast pace, and we want to ensure that all our players have access to the best equipment on the market”.
Ian Flack, Winmau’s Sales and Marketing Director, added: “The growth in Polish darts has been nothing short of staggering over the past 3 years. Maciej and the PDO should be commended for their superb efforts, and they are reaping the rewards via the increasing participation levels and media exposure of the PDO. They are one of the most dynamic darts organisations we have come across and we know that they will be the perfect partner for Winmau in the future”.
The impressive increase in the standard of play in Poland has also been recognised by Winmau. Krzysztof Stróżyk is a star name on the Polish circuit and he is the latest addition to the Winmau team of elite players.
